Project Type:
Sewer Inspection and Cleaning
Approximate Construction Start & End Dates:
Completed July 2018
Project Location:
Basin B
Project Description:
The City has an annual rehabilitation program that focuses on repairing and replacing damaged sewer pipes. The process begins with using a closed-circuit television camera to inspect the sewer pipes. Damage and defects such as cracks are identified, and a rehabilitation plan is developed. Finally, a construction company is sent into the field to repair and rehabilitated the damaged pipes.
By taking a proactive approach to identifying damaged pipes, the City is ensuring the sewer system is operating properly and reducing issues such as leaking or clogged pipes.
The Basin B Project consisted of replacing 6-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch sewer pipe with same size polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe at 146 locations and repairing numerous manhole bases. All work was located in the public right-of-way or in utility easements on private properties.
