Pump Stations

The City’s wastewater collection system has 26 pump stations that “lift” the wastewater to higher elevations to prevent buried pipes, which flow by gravity, from getting too deep. Many of the system’s existing pump stations are in need of rehabilitation due to age or require new equipment to increase pumping capacity to handle wet weather flows and meet regulatory requirements. The Clean Water Program’s pump station projects and programs are:

  • Biennial Pump Station Rehabilitation Program
  • Pump Station and Force Main Condition Assessment
  • Dale Avenue Pump Station Wet Well Rehabilitation
  • 42nd Avenue Pump Station Rehabilitation
  • East San Mateo Lift Stations Rehabilitation
