The UFES Project is Underway!
Site preparation activities continue at the Underground Flow Equalization System (UFES) project site at the San Mateo County Event Center. You may have noticed the contractor creating new entrances to the Event Center parking lot for construction equipment, and installing live video cameras that can be viewed on our website once larger-scale construction activities begin later this fall. Materials for shoring and excavation are arriving and being staged at the site, and wells to monitor groundwater levels will be drilled and installed in the coming weeks.
Work along Delaware Street and Saratoga Drive will begin later this fall. A traffic control plan is being prepared, and construction notices will be sent approximately two weeks before major ground-disturbing construction activities are expected to begin.

UFES Virtual Community Meeting planned for Fall 2020
The UFES Project is now underway, and the City of San Mateo’s Clean Water Program will host a virtual community meeting this fall to keep you informed of the details.
The meeting will be held in the coming weeks, before the start of major ground-disturbing construction activities. It will begin with a presentation, followed by a Q&A session with the project leads. Meeting details will be available soon at on our Home page.
If you are unable to participate in the live event, the meeting will be recorded, and video will be posted to the CWP website after the meeting. After viewing the recording, you can submit questions or comments about the presentation to us at info@CleanWaterProgramSanMateo.org, or call the UFES hotline at 1-650-522-7250.
