If you are interested in getting our new e-newsletter focused specifically on the progress of the Underground Flow Equalization System, you can now sign up here. We will notify residents of upcoming construction activity, traffic or pedestrian detours, and other timely information specifically for this project.
The UFES will be a 5.3-million-gallon underground, temporary storage facility, constructed under the northeastern portion of the San Mateo County Event Center. This facility will be used to take in excess flow during heavy storms and will help reduce sewer overflows in San Mateo. Please visit our UFES page for additional project information.
Our engineers will be installing construction monitoring wells and sensors. Active construction at the site is expected to begin in spring 2020.
