Virtual Community Meeting on September 25, 2023 for the El Camino Real Sewer Capacity Improvement Project

The City of San Mateo Clean Water Program invites you to join us for a virtual community meeting about the upcoming El Camino Real Sewer Capacity Improvement Project. The meeting is scheduled for Sept. 25, 2023, at 6 p.m.

The El Camino Real Sewer Capacity Improvements are part of the Basins 2 & 3 Collection System Upgrades being completed as part of the City of San Mateo’s Clean Water Program. The overall purpose of the Basin 2 & 3 Collection System Upgrades is to improve the ability of the overall wastewater collection system to manage sewer flows during heavy seasonal rainfall, aid in prevention of sewer overflows, and to help the City comply with regulatory requirements. The El Camino Real Sewer Capacity Improvements project involves installation of sewers that total approximately 7,800 linear feet of pipe, including new and upsized relief sewers, and installation of manholes. The upgrades will reinforce the system with additional capacity, helping to reduce sewer overflows. Construction is expected to begin in early 2024 and be complete in early 2025.

The meeting will start promptly at 6 p.m. with a presentation informing the community about details of upcoming construction activities, anticipated timeframes, and temporary impacts. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session with the project leads. The meeting will be recorded, and video will be posted to our website after the meeting.
