UFES Construction Update – August 16, 2023

Tree and Fence Work in Bay Meadows Park starting August 21, 2023

The City’s contractor will be working in Bay Meadows Park starting August 21, 2023. This work is expected to take approximately 6 to 8 weeks. Planned work includes removal of the existing fence and installation of a temporary fence in preparation for wall construction, as well as tree work.

All tree work will be done according to the City-approved Tree Protection Plan, and will include trimming existing trees, possibly removing a small number of trees that will conflict with the footprint of the planned wall, and planting new trees. Tree work will be performed by the City’s contractor’s certified arborist, in coordination with the City arborist.

The temporary fence will remain in place until the City’s contractors construct the wall, which will serve as a visual barrier between Bay Meadows Park and surrounding activities.

Our community will still be able to access the park without disruption and the path will remain open; however, it may be noisier than usual during this time.

We thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as we make steady progress toward the completion of this much-needed solution for our aging sewer system.
