UFES Work Hour Update – May 12, 2022

Off-Hours Work Approved for the Week of May 16, 2022

Off-hours work related to the UFES project has been approved by the City of San Mateo. The City’s contractor will be permitted to work additional hours from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2022 through Thursday, May 19, 2022; and overnight both Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

The City’s contractor is rehabilitating an existing pipeline along Saratoga Drive, between South Delaware Street and the main entrance to the San Mateo County Event Center. The after-hours work includes curing the new liner that will be installed inside the pipeline during the day.

The curing process typically requires a 48-hour period of continuous use of a generator and boiler; therefore, the City is allowing their contractor to work continuously from 7 a.m. Tuesday morning through 8 p.m. Thursday evening.

During this after-hours work, nearby residents can expect some short-term inconveniences – such as additional lighting, construction traffic, noise and vibration due to the various construction activities, and trucks and equipment operating around the project site.

Please note, routine approved work hours for Saratoga Drive are from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m.

We thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as we make steady progress towards the completion of our sewer system improvements.
