Los Prados, Kehoe Kelly, and Arroyo Lift Station Rehabilitation Project

Project Description:

The Los Prados, Kehoe Kelly, and Arroyo Lift Station Rehabilitation Project will rehabilitate and replace existing aging sanitary sewer pump stations and significantly improve the reliability of transporting sanitary sewer flows in the City’s sewer system.

The project involves installing new pumps, wet wells, and emergency generators at three pump station sites, complete abandonment of an existing pump station site, replacement of more than 1,600 linear feet of existing gravity sewer pipe, installation of more than 4,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer force main pipe, and reconfiguration of the S. Norfolk St/Los Prados St/La Selva St intersection.

Construction will occur in three different areas of the City as shown in the figure and as listed below.

Construction will occur weekdays (Mon-Fri) between 8 AM and 5 PM. Residents in affected areas will receive notification ahead of construction in their area.

Project Locations:

The project work will be performed in three areas.

Los Prados Lift Station: Winter 2026 – Summer 2026 & Winter 2027 – Fall 2027

  • A new force main has been installed along S. Norfolk between Flint Ave and La Selva St. Temporary paving has been completed where the new pipe was installed. Final paving will be completed at a later date.

  • A new gravity main and new manholes have been installed along Los Prados St between La Selva St and Bahia St. Temporary paving has been completed where the new pipe was installed. Final paving will be completed at a later date.

  • A new gravity main will be installed on El Parque Court. Temporary paving will be completed in the area of installation, with final paving occurring at a later date.

  • Work has been done to install a new manhole and new gravity sewer line at the intersection of S Norfolk St, La Selva St, and Los Prados St. Additional work will be completed at a later date to install a new lift station at this intersection. Traffic improvements will be made at this intersection after all sewer-related work has been completed. The post-construction layout of the intersection is displayed in the graphic.
Phased work will occur from Flint Avenue along South Norfolk street and along Los Prados street through Bahia street, including a section of El Parque court.

Kehoe Kelly Lift Station: Summer 2026 & Spring 2027 – Winter 2027

  • A new force main will be installed along Kehoe Ave between Meadow View Pl and Kelly St. Work is expected to begin in mid-June of 2026.

Arroyo Lift Station: Summer 2026 – Winter 2027 & Summer 2027 – Winter 2027

  • A new force main will be installed along Arroyo Court from El Camino Real to the lift station. Work is expected to begin in late summer 2026.

Potential temporary construction impacts may include:

  • Parking restrictions and lane closures – only in work zones
  • Driveway access restrictions – only in work zones
  • Construction noise, vibration and dust

Work will occur on Kehoe avenue between Meadow View place and Kelly street.
